If womens’ vaginas were jobs programs – America would probably be experiencing an economic boom right now. House Republicans are so obsessed with what women can and can not do with their bodies that yesterday 203 House Republicans voted to force rape victims and victims of incest to keep the baby had the women been impregnated; only 6 Republicans voted against it. Small government conservatism at work. 17 House Democrats voted for this bill but the vast majority of Democrats opposed this.
What are the Republicans thinking? Let’s try to understand their mindset … if a woman allows herself to get raped and doesn’t make the rapist wear a condom … shouldn’t she keep the baby? That’s just genius. They’re not just prohibiting abortions – they’re FORCING women to be obedient to the wishes of a mostly male dominated Congress.
NBC News writes HERE:
The House of Representatives voted down a bill on Tuesday night that would have prohibited women in Washington, D.C. from getting abortions after 20 weeks of pregnancy, even in cases involving rape or incest.
The bill received 220-154 votes, but because the Republicans brought it up under a suspension of House rules, it did not receive the two-thirds majority needed to pass.
Notably, the vote occurred a day before a key provision of the Affordable Care Act goes into effect, expanding preventive health care coverage for women.
This bill was introduced by House Rep Trent Franks (R-AZ); he is one of the racist xenophobes who signed a letter calling for an investigation into the role of Muslims taking over the U.S. government recently. Most people think of Michelle Bachmann when they hear that story … but right along side here was Trent Franks; more on that HERE.

[...] #1 – Republicans just presented “fetal personhood” bill that defines embryonic tissue as a person; this means Republicans would make it illegal for a woman to have an abortion in cases of rape or incest (source).
