Being a good journalist doesn’t mean that you allow a person in an interview to just tell you whatever talking points they came on to tell you; if they are wrong – you should challenge them.  And that goes for EVERYONE … the President – anyone.  Too many so called “journalists” allow these interviewees to simply say whatever they want completely unchallenged as if they have no idea what they’re talking about.  Journalism doesn’t mean that you don’t have a bias … it simply means that you’re always searching for the truth despite whatever bias you may hold.  WATCH THIS VIDEO.

If you haven’t heard – a new 22 minute propaganda movie featuring multiple former Navy Seals and Intelligence Officers claim that President Obama is “taking credit” for the death of Osama bin-Laden.  Additionally – the video blames President Obama’s administration of leaking information to help him politically.  We don’t know who paid for the production of this movie, but we do know that this is what conservatives tried to do to John Kerry in 2004 as they “swiftboated” him.  We’ve written about this propaganda film HERE; this whole thing is total b#llshit and CNN is actually doing its job for once.

This is an interaction that occurred on the video above:

O’Brien: “I know you know some of the criticism and it is that, even though you claim to be nonpartisan, that this group is actually very partisan.  You’re a Republican, you ran for Congress in 2010 in Virginia’s second congressional district. You have a rep in your group who worked for the Bush administration, you share office space with Republican groups. How do you answer that claim of being partisan when you claim that you’re not?”

Taylor: “I answer that claim by first saying this is an American issue. You yourself have reported extensively on leaks, so have ever other network that’s out there,” Taylor replied. “I understand the criticism will say, people will say, you’re a Republican. Well, I’m an American first. I’m an American before I’m a Republican.”

Watch as this well prepped former Republican candidate for Congress try to blame President Obama for taking credit for the death of Osama bin-Laden and then later devolving into President Obama “deserves some credit” for the killing of bin-Laden but not all the credit.  And that’s funny – because that’s pretty much what most sane people think too.  He also acknowledged that while he wasn’t certain that the administration was responsible for the leaks … that as Commander and Chief – he must shoulder the responsibility.  A person at CNN then points out the double standard – how can you both expect the President to be responsible for all the bad things but not responsible for all the good things.

Reuters just annihilates the talking point that this group is somehow “nonpartisan” HERE; an excerpt but you should read the entire article:

Records filed with federal and state authorities, and material posted on the Internet, show that key players in the campaign by the Special Operations OPSEC Education Fund include individuals with current or former affiliations with national and local Republican Party organizations. These include the group’s treasurer, lawyer and TV producers.

One of the Republican-leaning organizations that Braden represented during the 2008 presidential election cycle, an obscure group called Majority America, listed as its president a Michael Smith of Alexandria, Virginia.

Federal Election Commission filings show that one of the principal sources of finance for Smith’s Majority America group was a $250,000 donation from the late Carl Lindner, an Ohio businessman who backed numerous conservative causes – including the original 2004 “Swift Boat” campaign against John Kerry.

OPSEC rents an office in Alexandria, Virginia from a political consulting firm with Republican ties named The Trailblazer Group. Both OPSEC and Trailblazer said they have no relationship beyond sharing premises.

CNN is actually doing its job; more specifically – Soledad O’Brien is doing her job.  In fact – she recently committed journalism with John Sununu HERE – when she called him out over his lies.  Sununu said his plan wasn’t the same as the Ryan plan … but Romney himself has said “its almost identical“.  And Sununu said ” you put an Obama bumper sticker on your forehead when you do this”.  If you haven’t seen the video – watch it.  She’s committing actual journalism here; this is how its done.
