Right out of the gate – you can see the declassified FBI documents from 2002 HERE; they are still redacted for various reasons.  These were released in July of 2012 because of a request under the freedom of information act by author Grant Smith.  The documents show that current Israeli Prime Minister worked for a front company – the Heli Trading Company – in Israel on behalf of the Israel Ministry of Defense with the intention of illegally smuggling nuclear triggers out of the U.S.; they were ultimately successful.  In Israel – Netanyahu has placed a gag order on “Project Pinto” to ensure no further information gets out.

This is just another example of why American CIA officials have called Israel our “No. 1 counterintelligence threat” in the Middle East; I have documented that along with Israel’s long history of stealing American military technology HERE.  Israel is an ally because we share a common geopolitical interests in the region but they’re not a trusted friend; there is a difference.  They weren’t trusted under Nixon, Carter, Reagan, Bush, Clinton and they’re certainly not trusted under Obama.  But due to domestic politics America keeps giving Israel $3 billion a year which Israel then receives interest from America on whatever unused loan amount there is (source).  They’re so dependent on us that we spend more money on Israel’s defense than Israel spends on its own defense.  Think about that.

Netanyahu is a dick that I wish I could punch in the mouth; luckily – he isn’t an American official so I’m legally allowed to say that.  This is a guy who is trying to draw America into a war with Iran (source) even though a majority of Israeli Jews do not want to unilaterally attack Iran (source) because he claims Iran is on the cusp of being able to produce a nuclear weapon.  That sounds awfully familiar because he made the same claim in 1992 (source); any day now … it has been 20 years since he made that prediction.

So – to further his own interests and the interests of his country … Netanyahu has made it clear that he wants a Romney administration because Romney would outsource America’s foreign policy to Netanyahu and let him call the shots (source).  This is the same Israeli prime minister who refuses to discuss a nuclear non-proliferation pact with its neighbors (source); Israel is the only country in the region with nuclear weapons and they want to maintain that dominance in the region.

On June 27, 2012, the FBI partiallydeclassified and released seven additional pages[.pdf] from a 1985–2002 investigation into how a network of front companies connected to the Israeli Ministry of Defense illegally smuggled nuclear triggers out of the U.S.* The newly released FBI files detail how Richard Kelly Smyth — who was convicted of running a U.S. front company — met with Benjamin Netanyahu in Israel during the smuggling operation. At that time, Netanyahu worked at the Israeli node of the smuggling network, Heli Trading Company. Netanyahu, who currently serves as Israel’s prime minister, recently issued a gag order that the smuggling network’s unindicted ringleader refrain from discussing “Project Pinto.”

During the 2002 Smyth counterintelligence debriefing, the FBI learned that the Ministry of Defense ordered and paid Heli Trading for krytrons. Heli in turn sourced them from MILCO in a clandestine operation codenamed Project Pinto. The report reveals how MILCO illegally shipped prohibited articles under general Commerce Department export licenses rather than smuggling them out via Israeli diplomatic pouches. The last time Smyth saw Milchan was in 1985. The Ministry of Defense issued a burn notice on Smyth after discussions with U.S. officials about the krytron smuggling. According to the FBI report, “Shortly thereafter, [Smyth] fled the United States.”

Although the FBI report has now been sent to the New York Times, Washington Post, all members of Congress and United Nations members, no top-tier establishment news coverage, Congressional or UN investigations have been made public.  On Friday, National Public Radio syndicated host Diane Rehm immediately disconnected IRmep Research Director Grant F. Smith when he asked her reporter roundtable to assess the implications of the Netanyahu espionage ring.
