Under a great deal of continuous pressure and threat of boycott HP, CVS, BestBuy, Deere, and MillerCoors have all recently left the American Legislative Exchange Council (ALEC). As ThinkProgress notes HERE – this now makes 29 groups to leave the right-wing lobbying group that’s destroying democracy.
Those companies add to the likes of Johnson & Johnson, Wal-Mart, Amazon, Coca-Cola, PepsiCo, Kraft, Wendy’s, Mars, Inc.,Arizona Public Service, the National Board for Professional Teaching Standards Scantron, TheNational Association of Charter School Authorizers, Kaplan, Procter & Gamble, Yum! Brands,Blue Cross/Blue Shield, Reed Elsevier, American Traffic Solutions,Intuit, Medtronic , Dell and the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation.
IF YOU DON’T UNDERSTAND WHY ALEC IS A BIG DEAL – YOU NEED TO CLICK HERE.
ALEC is an organization where corporations literally write legislation and give that to members of Congress to pass. They call it “model legislation” … but it’s just legalized corruption. This is happening thanks to organizations that are putting pressure on these corporations with the threat of boycott and the threat of bad PR.
I am happy to say that people on IACWE have sent hundreds of emails to Johnson and Johnson from various calls to action like HERE.
COLOR OF CHANGE IS NOW PRESSURING AT&T AND STATE FARM TO LEAVE ALEC. YOU CAN HELP. EMAIL THESE PEOPLE BELOW AND LET THEM KNOW HOW YOU FEEL ABOUT ALEC:
