The Morning Joe talks about the issue of Todd Akin (R-MO) and his comments that victims of “legitimate rape” don’t get pregnant due to their body blocking a rapist’s sperm. If you haven’t seen it – watch that HERE.
I find two points interesting about this:
#1 – Both Todd Akin and Paul Ryan (R-MN) cosponsored the “No Taxpayer Funding for Abortion Act” which inserted language changing the definition of rape into “forcible rape”. Rape is rape – period. You can read more about that HERE. Bottom line – what Todd Akin says here is consistent with what many conservatives think. The rest of them are just not stupid enough to say it out loud.
#2 – For the first time in modern history – the Fox News/Right Wing marketing machine finally denounced something deplorable said or done by a conservative. The Republican party is sooooo far out on the right that they continue to defend the most indefensible positions. We have finally found something that even the crazy wing of the party is unwilling to defend.
