When Bill Clinton spoke at the Democratic National Convention – my take on all of this is that he didn’t get every fact right. He missed some stuff or skewed a few things but the vast majority of what he said was out and out true. I showcased the items that I thought he was right about HERE. As for actual fact checkers … here is what they said:
Politifact rates Bill Clinton’s statement on the score for the economy between Democrats and Republicans HERE; it’s true.
Bloomberg says “No false claims in Clinton’s DNC speech” HERE.
Factcheck.org says “Republicans will find plenty of Clinton’s scorching opinions objectionable. But with few exceptions, we found his stats checked out.” HERE.
NPR says “Most facts check out in Bill Clinton’s speech” HERE.
The Washington Post did not give a “rating” for the entire speech but gave details issue by issue HERE.
Now compare that to the verbal ass chewing that the media gave Paul Ryan for his dishonest acceptance speech. We’ve compiled a list of Media headlines after his speech HERE. You can see my fact check of Paul Ryan where I counted 28 lies in 37 minutes HERE. In short – Paul Ryan’s lines are dishonest …. Bill Clinton’s are mostly true.
