I’m a firm believer in this. The reality is – people shouldn’t need charity. Charities shouldn’t even need to exist….that’s what we have modern society for. Some might call that an entitlement state but if I’m a socialist because I think ever American deserves access to a college level education regardless of their means without having to take on debt so that they can work to provide a life for themselves and their family…well then call it what you will. I refuse to apologize for defending the notion that every American deserves an opportunity for prosperity. People should NEVER be in a situation where they have to beg to feed their family; it does in fact degrade the soul.
